The Reverie Saigon Announces September Grand Opening
Post Date: 2015-08-06
On 30 July 2015, new hotel The Reverie Saigon set a date for its eagerly anticipated grand opening – September 1.
The 286-room property anchors the 39-storey Times Square building, located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh’s District 1. Overlooking the storied city and the Saigon River, the latest addition to the Leading Hotels of the World portfolio offers unparalleled views.
While projecting contemporary appeal with its sleek exterior, the interior is splendorous with Italian extravagance – the finest Italian decorators extend their vision from individual rooms and suites to public spaces that are by turns dazzling and whimsical.
The hotel that will be the most expansive accommodation in the city has been seven years in the making, with rooms from 43-53 square metres and suites of 63-313 square metres which are replete with linens of soaring thread count and walls of textured Italian silk that fulfil aristocratic yearnings beyond the go-to colonial-era aesthetics and East Asian roots of the Vietnam hospitality scene.
Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, the Austrian general manager (and vice president of operations for WMC Group) whose roots in Vietnam go back to 2008, explained, “With this hotel, we have tried to create an experience of accommodation that is so singular, so splendid and so unexpected in the one-time Pearl of the Orient that the hotel becomes a place that stays with guests long after they’ve checked-out.”
Moreover, three of the hotel’s restaurants are destinations in their own right. The Royal Pavilion, R&J and Café Cardinal are driven by lofty Chinese, Italian and French culinary ambitions respectively, within captivatingly elegant settings.
The hotel’s 120-square-metre gym is a haven for fitness enthusiasts with its expansive suite of TechnoGym machines and inspiring views of the hotel’s 24-metre, sixth floor pool. This is rounded out by Outdoor Jacuzzis, indoor steam rooms and saunas for the more recreationally-inclined.
In addition, The Spa is well on the way to becoming the most luxurious retreat in Vietnam, spanning 1,200 square metres on two floors with ten treatment rooms and a beauty salon with distinctive designs.
The hotel forms a collective with the 89 one- and two-bedroom, full-service, extended-stay apartment The Reverie Residence in the same location, which has its own seperate entrance and private lounge. This is integrated with fifteen versatile function spaces, including the opulent La Scala Ballroom which is the largest pillar-less ballroom in the city.A prime location in downtown Ho Chi Minh City means that the historic Lam Son Square, City Hall and the banks of the Saigon River are within a five-minute walk, while Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace and the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City all lie within a kilometre of the hotel.
