Second Edition of Gelato World Tour To Kickstart In Singapore

From 20 to 22 March 2015, 16 gelato artisans will compete for the title of World’s Best Gelato at the iconic Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The worldwide competition will then go on to tour across more than seven cities around the globe, with the Grand Finale of the Gelato World Tour taking place in Rimini Fiera, Italy in September 2017.

 

16 flavours from Asia Pacific will be selected by a jury of professionals, with the recipes hailing from 18 countries including Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia and India. The President of the Jury Selection Stage in Singapore is Pang Kok Keong, the chef and founder of Sugar Daddy Group. A member of the Singapore National Culinary Team since 2002, Kok Keong captained the World Pastry Cup in Lyon ten years ago, as well as won the Asian Pastry Cup in 2008 and 2010.

 

A highlight of the event is the Gelato Charity Dinner, which will be managed by Singaporean marketing consultancy Felicitas Global. The first of its kind in Asia, the dinner will comprise gelato for each course, from the appetizer to dessert. Proceeds from the dinner and gelato sample at Marina Bay Sands will be donated to a local charity.
