From 16 March to 2 August 2015, Goodwood Park Hotel will be holding its latest instalment of Durian Fiesta, an annual affair showcasing an array of desserts made from D24 and Mao Shan durians. First introduced in 1983, this year is set to be its largest edition yet, with the release of six new creations – twice as many as usual – on top of its menu of all-time favourites.

 

Leading the new line-up of durian-infused bonne bouche are the Durian Rainbow Ice Cream Cake, featuring pulpy durian ice cream encased in colourful sponge cake, and the dense, almond-encrusted Durian Carrot-Walnut Cake. Dainty offerings of Mini Durian Chocolate Wafer Rolls, Durian Macarons, Durian Egg Tartlets and “Mao Shan Wang” Horn, a traditional neighbourhood bakery confection infused with durian cream, complete the spread.

 

Signature items from the fiesta’s previous editions will also grace this year’s menu, including the Durian Puff, Durian Crêpe and D24 or “Mao Shan Wang” Durian Ice Cream. The Durian Cappuccino Cake will also be back by popular demand, following a three-year absence.

 

The novel confectioneries will be available for purchase at the hotel’s Deli, or through online orders, with the last order date being 29 July at 12pm. Customers may also sample the creations in a restaurant setting, with The Coffee Lounge serving a dessert buffet with durian pastries during lunch and dinner from 30 May to 2 August.
