The 16th edition of SIAL CHINA 2015 took place from the 6th to 8th of May 2015, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. It took up an exhibition area of 115,000 sqm, 20% bigger than 2014’s edition, and saw 2,734 exhibitors, 14% more than in 2014, and a total of 61,296 visitors, 11.5% more than in 2014.

The opening ceremony on the 6th of May saw a delegation of Ministers from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Chile, Colombia, Egypt, France, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Mozambique, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, Tunisia,  Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, USA and many more in attendance.

Representatives from the United States were this year’s guests-of-honour; with the U.S. Consulate General to Shanghai and the Ministerial Agriculture Counselor from Beijing Embassy proudly representing their country.

The United States also had a strong representation during the SIAL CHINA 2015 with more than 100 companies presenting the pork and poultry industries in Hall E3, and further showcased a great diversity and quality of American food and beverage products and in Hall W1. 

Exhibitors from Poland, who were located primarily in hall W4, occupied nearly 1,000 sqm, and featured dairy products of the highest quality, traditional meat and poultry products, fruits and vegetables preserves, natural juices, confectionery products, beverages and alcoholic drinks as well.

The Heilongjiang province was selected as the Guest Province of Honor with 40 companies showcasing rice, edible fungus, blueberry wine and other health and organic products.

Best Designed Pavilion Award & Best Designed Individual Stand Award

Among all the well-designed pavilions and stands in SIAL CHINA, the independent jury awarded the Best Designed Pavilion to Korea Pavilion for their impressive ethnic decoration and the Best Designed Individual Stand to Segafredo Zanetti Espresso from Korea.

2015 was indeed a fruitful year for SIAL CHINA, with even with increases in size, quality, the event continues to inspire many. Stay tuned to see what wonders SIAL CHINA conjures for the food and beverage market in the next year, at SIAL CHINA 2016, from the 5th to 7th of May.
